Brian Meehan's Gallagher was an easy winner of the Sunley Conditions Stakes at Newbury under Martin Dwyer on Thursday evening.
The evens favourite was always travelling well in the slipstream of the front-running Plum Pudding and asserted himself in the closing stages to win by two lengths.
Gallagher - good winner at Newbury.
It was just the second win of the Bahamian Bounty colt's career after a host of placed efforts in Group company as a juvenile and a fourth place in the Jersey Stakes on his return at Royal Ascot.
Plum Pudding held on for second, with Khor Dubai staying on for third.
The Betfair Cup at Glorious Goodwood could be the winner's next assignment, with trainer Meehan saying afterwards: "It's nice to get him winning, he won it the way he should've won it.
"He'll go straight in at the deep end now, maybe the Lennox (Betfair Cup) at Goodwood."
