Back From Spain...where`s the sun gone?

Saeed bin Suroor is hoping for a big race from Alexandros and Frankie Dettori in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

The four-year-old finished third in a Listed race on his last time out in the UK in November 2008 but won twice during the Carnival meeting at Nad Al Sheba.

The trainer who won last year's renewal of the race for Godolphin with Creachadoir said that he was pleased with the colt's progress.

"Alexandros is a horse who always tries in his races. He ran well in Dubai earlier this year and also put up a sound performance on his latest start in Hong Kong," said trainer Saeed bin Suroor.

"He's come out of that race in good order and I have been happy with his preparation," he said.

"The mile of the Juddmonte Lockinge will suit him well and I think that he has a chance in a tough race."

Simon Crisford, Godolphin's racing manager, added: "Alexandros should run a good, honest race. He is just a few pounds beneath some of the top milers but we are looking for a nice, solid run from him.
We hope so Simon...he`s our "Each Way" selection in this fantastic race...16/1 available I`m told this morning!
