Donny` Cup For Geordieland...then The Breeders?

Jamie Osborne reports his stable star Geordieland to be bang on target for next month's Doncaster Cup.

The eight-year-old was placed in his third successive Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on his latest outing but bypassed last week's Lonsdale Cup at York after meeting with a slight hold-up in training.

However, Osborne reports the grey to be back firing on all cylinders, saying: "He's still heading to Doncaster all being well and it was unfortunate missing York really as taking nothing away from the winner (Askar Tau), you would have to say the race was a bit sub-standard," said Osborne.

"We just had a little hold-up with him and he missed a bit of work, so we thought it would be safer to shoot for Doncaster than rush him to get to York.

"He's best lightly-raced and gaps between his races seem to suit him, so it will be interesting to see what we meet next time.

"If all went well at Doncaster we are certainly considering the Breeders' Cup (Marathon), but we'll just have to see."
