York...can`t wait!

The ground remains good to firm at York ahead of the Ebor meeting despite a bout of watering and a shower on the Knavesmire.

Officials decided to water the track in order to ensure conditions do not become too fast, and four millimetres of irrigation were applied to maintain the current going.

Following the watering a shower fell, providing two millimetres of rain, but conditions during Saturday evening were described as bright and blustery with sunny spells.

The forecast for Sunday remains largely dry with sunny spells, while it is a similar story for Monday and Tuesday.

"We've gone from a forecast with a lot of rain to a forecast with not much rain," said clerk of the course William Derby.

"We are having regular dialogue with all connections of the horses and we will continue to keep people updated."

The meeting opens on Tuesday, when Sea The Stars is due to line up for the Juddmonte International as long as the ground is quick enough.
