Nott 3.50 : La Vecchia Scuola cut no ice behind Quevega at Cheltenham but she showed on more than one occasion last season that she is a smart mare. Second in the Cesarewitch, she also won over a mile and a half at Pontefract under Kieren Fallon.
Trainer Jim Goldie said: "It didn't work out at Cheltenham, she hadn't run since November and maybe she was rusty. She's come out of the race well enough and it's probably brought her on a wee bit, hopefully it has.
"We tried to get her ready for Cheltenham but that didn't work, hopefully she'll be fit enough now. We're hoping for a good run. She stays and she's still got a bit of toe so I think one-mile-six should be ideal."
