Sandown Review...I LOVE Hayley I Do!

Margot Did set herself up for a high-profile sprint campaign geared towards Group One prizes at York and Longchamp when blitzing her rivals in the totesport.com Scurry Stakes at Sandown.

In making virtually all the running against the far rail under Hayley Turner, the former smart two-year-old showed how unlucky she had been on her previous outing at York, when her saddle slipped in the race won by Night Carnation.

The last-named filly was made a warm favourite to follow up in this Listed race but, although making a move at halfway, she was soon in trouble and eventually finished fourth as Dinkum Diamond stayed on for second, five lengths adrift of Michael Bell's winner.

Bell said: "Margot Did finally did! She probably would have won at York, when she ended up with the saddle round her backside, and apart from disappointing in the Cheveley Park when she was possibly over the top, she's run several good races in defeat.

"As we know she likes York, the Nunthorpe is the obvious major target, and we will also look at races like the King George Stakes at Goodwood and the Prix de l'Abbaye. These are high-level plans, but she's a decent filly and deserves to have a shot at them."

Sinfonico (12-1) proved a worthy winner of the totescoop6 Handicap as he wore down Anoint and Deity to convincingly take the spoils for Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes.

Hannon's son and assistant Richard Hannon Jnr said: "He was a lovely yearling, but had a couple of problems and is therefore quite lightly raced. We didn't know for sure he would handle the ground, although the jockeys that have ridden him said he'd appreciate some cut."

Macdillon (7-2) was another to appreciate the easy conditions as he arrived late on the scene under Liam Keniry to take the Bet totepool At totesport.com Handicap by a length and a quarter from Taurus Twins.

His trainer Stuart Kittow said: "When he won his maiden here we thought he was going to be a very good horse, but we found he'd split a pastern, which needed an operation.

"Ever since then he's just been saving a bit for himself, but on the easier ground he let himself down. The plan was to get there as late as we possibly could."
