Chiberta King Coasts It Cannily.

Chiberta King was given a canny front-running ride by Jimmy Fortune to land some bets in the 32Red-sponsored stayers' handicap at Newmarket.

Trainer Andrew Balding's charge last won at this meeting 12 months ago - off a mark of 73, and rated just 2lb higher here, he recorded a third career triumph as the 11-4 favourite after opening up as a 7-2 shot.

Fortune wound up the pace from the front aboard Chiberta King, who was showing no signs of stopping as he hit the line two lengths clear of Gala Evening.

Fortune said: "I was on the best horse. He is a galloper and loves that fast ground. He saw it out well and will probably get further. He is a progressive type."
