Summer Plate Review
Qulinton (15-2) felt the benefit of first-time blinkers as he triumphed in the totesport.com Summer Plate at Market Rasen.
With the ground riding easier than expected, the field were well strung out from an early stage.
Conor O'Farrell was content to bide his time until jumping to the front three out and although Logans Run got something of a second wind to challenge again, O'Farrell had plenty up his sleeve and Qulinton overcame a slightly slow leap at the last to power clear by 19 lengths.
Logans Run kept up for second, while Pilgrims Lane was seven lengths back in third.
Winning trainer David Pipe said: "He's always been a horse with a lot of ability, but the blinkers have helped him concentrate as he wanders around up front.
"He has won on soft, but we were still a bit concerned about the ground after all the rain. He coped better than the rest of them.
"We've had this race in mind for a long time and Conor gave him a great ride.
"He's in the Galway Plate and may go there now."
